The Brief
To celebrate the original Victorian language while introducing a complementary architectural expression that seamlessly connects through a light-filled interior sensibility, fostering a generous connection to place and community.
The Result
The living, kitchen and dining spaces sit between three courtyards creating an interplay of internal and external environments. The vistas through these spaces create a complexity and spaciousness that belie the small semi.
The play of natural light has been carefully considered throughout the design, where the courtyards, inconspicuous skylights and full height sliding doors breathe new life and a sense of generosity into the home.
The refined and elegant resolution of living spaces and courtyards connects to the graffitied laneway energy in an unexpected and joyful way.
The Feeling
A warm, layered, light filled urban family sanctuary.
Ruby radiance
Connected courtyards
